This delicious pull apart bread is as delicious as it is fun to eat.
1 loaf (1 lb.) frozen bread dough, thawed
3 Tbs. melted butter
1 pkg. (1 oz.) ranch salad dressing mix
1 pkg. (12 oz.) bacon, cut into 1-inch pieces – cooked and drained
1 cup shredded Mozzarella cheese
1. Roll bread dough into 1/2-inch-thick rectangle on lightly floured surface; brush with butter. Cut into 1-inch pieces, using sharp knife; place in large bowl.
2. Add cheese, dressing mix and bacon; toss to coat. Place on ungreased baking sheet; shape into oval loaf. Let rise in warm place until doubled in volume.
3. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°). Bake loaf 20 to 30 min. or until golden brown. Remove from pan to wire rack to cool.
Mike’s comments: Be sure not to cook the bacon until its just cooked, not crispy. The crisping will occur in the oven as the bread bakes. I’ve read some folks prefer using just 1/2 of the ranch dressing packet but I prefer the full flavored ranch experience.
