Nice, easy, and affordable casserole that’s as good as a delivered pizza. This recipe is a blast to make with kids as well. They’ll have as much fun eating it as they did helping prepare it.
3/4 lb. ground beef
3/4 lb. pork sausage, bulk or rolled
1 can (15 oz.) pizza sauce
2 pkgs. (12 oz.) refrigerated buttermilk biscuits
1 1/2 cups shredded Mozzarella cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1. Preheat oven to 400°F. In a sauté pan, over medium heat, brown the ground beef and pork sausage; drain.
2. In a large bowl combine the browned ground beef, browned pork sausage and pizza sauce; mix well.
3. Cut biscuits into quarters and place in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish. Top with the meat and sauce mixture.
4. Bake, uncovered, at 400°F for 20 minutes. Remove baking dish and sprinkle with cheeses; bake for 5-10 minutes longer or until cheese is melted. Let stand 5-10 minutes before serving.
This is another borderline “redneck cuisine” recipe, and I absolutely love it! Give it a try and I bet you do too.
